Tata Ethics Conclave

The theme of TEC-2018 was to deliberate on and understand leading practices to improve the ethical culture within organisations. The conclave began with an address by S Padmanabhan, Group Chief Ethics Officer, followed by a keynote address on ‘Building Ethical Cultures’ by Leo Martin, Co-founder and Director, GoodCorporation, UK.

R Nanda (Tata Chemicals) shared key findings from the Annual Compliance Report Cycle – 2018, derived from declarations made by 59 group companies. This was followed by an informative and insightful session on the impending impact of ‘Recent Amendments to the Prevention of Corruption Act’ by RS Bhatti, Chief Vigilance Officer, Airports Authority of India. Next, Arpinder Singh, Partner and Head, Forensic and Integrity Services, EY, shared recent trends in ethics and compliance, thereby setting the tone for the participants to think through and consider proactive measures to address imminent ethics-related risks in their organisations

Ethics Leaders from TCS, Tata Power and Tata - AIA Life shared Case-related Challenges and Learnings followed by discussion on ethical dilemmas often faced by companies and their employees through three skit-based scenarios. Kashmira Mewawala (Tata Capital) then shared valuable professional experiences and actions taken in her company, based on her sustained engagement with its top leadership team. The conclave closed with an open house session hosted by S Padmanabhan, where matters of interest to the audience were candidly discussed.

The theme of Tata Ethics Conclave 2021 was to deliberate Pivotal role of Ethics for Organisation’s Resilience in Crisis. The virtual conclave was broadcasted live from Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai over 2 days on 21st and 22nd January 2021 and saw enthusiastic participation of 550+ ethics community members across 70+ group companies and invitees. The conclave was addressed by notable speakers from Tata group, Industry Leaders and Thought Leaders. In addition to the thought-provoking interactive sessions, select value chain partners and generation next employees shared their thoughts through video messages.

Tata Ethics Conclave 2022 was conducted on 2nd February 2022 with the theme ‘Elevating External Stakeholders’ Trust’. The objective was to emphasize ethics related aspects that are evolving and would drive the trust of external stakeholders (customer, financial stakeholder, value chain partner and regulator) on the brand and organisation. The virtual conclave was attended by 500+ ethics community members and invitees from 70+ group companies. The conclave was addressed by Tata Group Chairman, Tata Group Chief Ethics Officer, senior leaders from Tata companies and external expert.

The Tata Ethics Conclave 2023 was held on 14th February 2023 at Taj President, Mumbai and the theme was ‘Ethics in the era of emerging technologies and digitalization’. The conclave was addressed by Tata Group Chairman, Tata Group Chief Ethics Officer and notable speakers from Tata Group, Industry Leaders, and Thought Leaders.
Recognitions were bestowed to 12 Ethics Community members for their contributions towards driving Leadership of Business Ethics framework along with the winning and 3 finalist teams of the 2nd edition of Ethics in Action Case Study Competition. The conclave was attended in-person by senior Tata leaders and 160+ Tata Group Ethics Community members, additionally 250+ participants joined virtually.
