"First, be genuinely interested in the people you are working with, and that will require you to spend time with them. People development requires energy, time, and interest. Second, there will be ups and downs in businesses. But remember that your role as a leader is to spend time on people development when your business is in the midst of challenges. The third thing I would say is if you must develop a person that you are working with, there needs to be a strong foundation of trust between you and your team member."
