Research is an integral part of the learning initiatives of TMTC which serves the broad objectives of enhancing skills and competencies in Group companies and developing the knowledge base to help them meet the various organisational challenges to become market leader.

TMTC’s research is organizationally relevant and focuses on
• addressing organizational challenges; and
• creating new knowledge that is of value to organizations in the Tata Group

The unique feature of research at TMTC is that it blends the academic rigour of research with the realities of business derived from various companies in the Tata Group, covering various sectors such as engineering, materials, services, energy, chemicals, consumer products and information systems and communications.The width and depth of practical business related experience is a unique source of data which enriches and enhances the quality of research.

The output of research include the following :

Management Briefs - These are brief distilled versions of topics of current interest which are of practical value to managers.
Research Papers - These are papers that meet the quality and rigour of being published in a peer review journal and answer important research questions relevant to business.
Case Studies - These describe real life business situations and are used for teaching in the courses at TMTC.
Manuals - These are usable documents on any topic relevant to business for practical reference and use.
Articles & Compilations - These are articles written by the faculty members or compilation of audio visual material which could be used for teaching purposes.
