Innovation is not just breakthroughs in space science, cloned animal farms or satellite communication. It can be modest and incremental, a better value proposition.
The process of innovation has been around for a long time and has in fact, been part of the evolution process itself – not just evolution of technology or business, but evolution of humanity. It can be said that the ability to create and control fire was by itself a giant step in innovation – something that occurred at the dawn of civilisation. The reason for this was probably the same then as it is now – one individual chose to look a problem differently than everyone else.
A myriad of examples from daily life, be it safety pins and bicycles at one end or the high tech nanotubes, communication tools and the like at the other – each is the result of someone looking at a problem differently. The innovation programmes at TMTC aim to address this multi-layered concept and look at some key ideas and concepts that push innovation.
